Overall, the bar chart clearly reveals that Developed countries show considerably lower illiteracy rates in contrast to underdeveloped. However, it is worth noting that the illiteracy rates among women are still significantly higher than among men in all of the presented regions.

Undoubtedly, South Asia has the highest number of uneducated people in both male (35%) and female (57%) demographic. According to the histogram indicators, the Arab States are a close second to South Asia in ignorance levels, with females rating at around 53%, while males reaching almost 30%.

In contrast, the Developed countries have evidently managed to maintain the illiteracy rates at bay, showing equally low percentages among both men and women-1 and 2 percent respectively.

It is also worth mentioning, that in the region of underdeveloped countries the lowest level of illiteracy recorded among male population was in East Asia. Meanwhile the lowest percentage of women, who lack education was reached in Latin America.

In conclusion, while Developed countries show relatively positive results in the respect of overall level of education in the world, there is still a significant decline in the literacy levels in underdeveloped countries especially in South Asia and the Arab States. With the female demographic having a more severe decline in education level in comparison to male demographic in all of the regions presented including Developed countries.
